Bolling, Claude
French twentieth century composer, arranger, pianist, and band leader Claude Bolling (1930-) was a child prodigy pianist. He grew up playing jazz and joined with many of that genre's greatest artists, including Hampton. Some consider him the best interpreter of Ellington. He also wrote for the movies and composed a large ragtime repertoire. His classical offerings include compositions which he played with flutist Jean-Pierre Rampal (Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano) and trumpeter Maurice André (Toot Suite).
