Chicago Tap Theatre.com
Chicago Tap Theatre was founded by Artistic Director Mark Yonally, who saw tap as an unexplored medium for narrative and conceptual dance. A veteran of the Bill Evans Dance Company and E.T.C. (the oldest tap company in Chicago), he also wants to help preserve the rapidly disappearing work (dances, writings, film, etc.) of first and second generation tap dancers.
Portsmouth Percussive Dance Festival 2005
The PPDF is held the last week in June in Portsmouth, NH. The first festival in 1995 showcased percussive forms of expression, including Irish step dance, flamenco, and body music, and now includes tap and jazz, as well as intensives in African dance and drumming, vocals, and Music for Dancers.
