Drama series that began airing on The WB in 2000.

Pregnant at the age of 16, Lorelai Gilmore left her affluent parents and moved to the small Connecticut town of Stars Hollow. She was taken in at the Independence Inn, where she worked her way up from maid to manager, dreaming of one day owning her own inn.

Relying primarily on each other for 16 years, Lorelai and her daughter Rory have developed an extremely close relationship. Lorelai's estranged parents re-enter the picture when she is forced to ask them for help in paying tuition at a private school to which Rory has been accepted, and Friday night dinners at the Gilmores' house in Hartford have since become a tradition.

The show follows the relationship between all three generations of Gilmores, as well as everyday goings-on in a small town.
